USE OF UV BLACK LIGHTS AND LED WHITE LIGHTS FOR DOLL INSPECTION In my opinion, these lights are worth their weight in gold to doll collectors. Until now, to use a black light at a doll show or auction, it was necessary to crawl under a table to have an area dark enough to use the black light. That will not be necessary with this Super UV Black Light!! It will be effective even in bright lighting, directly under a window, or in natural daylight. The UV black light works well in dimmer lighting, but is not quite as strong as the Super Black Light. You may need to shade the doll being checked for it to work as well as the Super Black Light. The super black light has an identification label on the package, as well as a blue dot on the label on the light itself. This will help you know which light is the black light if you have purchased both lights. The black light is to be used on the outside of a bisque head to show hairlines and some repairs. It will not show all repairs on bisque, as most paint used for repairs blacklights purple, and so does bisque. It will also show repaint on composition, wood and cloth. Most original paint on dolls blacklights a lighter color than the actual paint, while repaint on these dolls normally blacklights purple. Thus, the main use for the black lights is to show hairlines on bisque and repaint on composition, wood and cloth. The white light is to be used to show repairs on bisque head dolls. It is to be shined inside the doll's head. The repair or repaint will be opaque, while the bisque is more translucent. The plaster used to hold the eyes in place will also show opaque, so don't confuse it with a repair. The white light can also be used to light the outside of a doll better in a location with poor lighting, showing better coloring and decoration detail. There will always be exceptions to the general guidelines I have given, but this is what will show on most dolls. Please, if you have any questions on the use of these lights, don't hesitate to call and talk to me. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions or help in any way I can.
