18" KESTNER 180 CHARACTER
Marks: 180 on back of head, Germany // 1 ½ on lower back. Bisque socket head, painted blue eyes with white highlight dot, feathered blond brows, tiny painted upper lashes, open/closed mouth with molded upper teeth, antique mohair wig, jointed wood and composition body with Kestner markings. Dressed in antique white dress, antique underclothing, newer socks, shoes and hat. Excellent condition; right second finger reglued, minor repair on upper torso. One of Kestner’s delightful characters, this rare child has outstanding bisque and decoration, with lovely soft coloring. $3850

18" KESTNER 186 CHARACTER
Marks: Germany // 1 ½ on lower back. Bisque socket head, painted blue eyes with white highlight dot, feathered brows, tiny painted upper lashes, open/closed smiling mouth with molded upper teeth, molded dimples, antique mohair wig, jointed wood and composition Kestner body. Dressed in navy blue gingham dress, antique underclothing, socks and shoes, vintage straw hat. 1” firing line from rear crown has red tint in it (I feel it is a firing line rather than a hairline because of the color in it), rub on nose and small rub on chin. Although this doll does not have the number 186 on her head, she is definitely that mold (per Jan Foulke’s Kestner book, some were unmarked). She is a darling child with a bright expression full of health and sunshine. A real delight to enjoy! $2850

18" SIMON & HALBIG 979
Marks: 979 // 9 on head. Bisque socket head, blue sleep eyes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with two upper and one lower square teeth, pierced ears, antique wig, jointed wood and composition body with well modeled torso, wooden upper arms and upper legs, straight wrists. Dressed in antique pink factory dress, antique underclothing, new cotton socks, antique shoes. Overall excellent condition with perfect head, normal wear and aging on body, finish worn in places, especially on feet. This scarce mold has the very desirable square upper and lower teeth, and an unusual look, definitely belonging to the Simon & Halbig family. $1750

12" NOCKLER & TITTEL CHARACTER
Marks: N&T1//2 on head, Germany//3/0 stamped in red on lower back. Bisque socket head, blue intaglio eyes looking right, red lid line over eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth with lighter area between lips, molded and painted blond hair, jointed wood and composition body. Dressed in antique white low waisted dress, antique underclothing including corset, new socks and shoes. Head is perfect, arms and legs repainted. A pert and very rare character made by one of Germany’s smaller companies. Perfect for the collector who loves an appealing character face! $2350

15" GEBRUDER HEUBACH 7647
Marks: 5//76(sunburst mark)47//Germany on head. Solid dome bisque socket head, blue intaglio eyes with well-modeled lids, two tone single stroke brows, open/closed smiling mouth with molded laugh lines at eyes, molded and painted blond hair, jointed wood and composition body with jointed wrists. Nicely dressed in new two-piece boy’s outfit with hat, one piece knit underwear, antique socks, oilcloth two snap shoes. Finish of body is very worn, with a “washed” look, minor repair around neck socket of body, repair on left lower leg, right index finger replaced, hands touched-up. A rare and very appealing character with realistic features and a happy, little boy face. $1795

30" K * R GIRL, FLAPPER BODY
Marks: K * R//Simon & Halbig//Germany// 76 on head. Bisque socket head, brown sleep eyes with real lashes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with four upper teeth, new human hair wig, jointed composition “flapper” body with high knee joints and diagonal hip joints, separate balls at shoulders, elbows and knees, jointed wrists. Dressed in antique clothing of pale pink cotton dress with lace and ribbon trim, chemise, pink silk pants, half slip, silk stockings, brown leather shoes. A few real lashes missing on each eye, body has excellent finish with normal light soil and marks. This is a very pretty German girl in a nice large size. She is well dressed in all antique clothing, and has the very desirable flapper body. $995

5" K * R CHILD
Marks: Halbig//K*R//13 on head. Bisque socket head, set blue eyes, single stroke brows, painted upper and lower lashes, closed mouth, original mohair wig, five piece composition body. Dressed in original navy blue skirt, faded rose colored knit sweater and matching cap, original underclothing, no socks or shoes. Excellent condition; coloring of sweater and cap faded, one moth hole in skirt high in front under sweater. A darling diminutive German child in exceptionally nice condition, with totally original clothing. A real little treasure! $550

10" GEBRUDER HEUBACH CHARACTER
Marks: 5//D//(mold numbers on each side of Heubach square mark illegible, but may be 9390)//Germany on head. Bisque socket head, blue intaglio eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth, molded and painted hair held back on right side with molded blue bow, jointed wood and composition body with straight wrists, wooden upper arms and upper legs. Dressed in light blue antique dress with ruffle trim on bodice, new slip and pants in the antique style, new socks and shoes. A few tiny specks in bisque, head sets low in neck socket of body, several paint strips flaked off upper arms and legs. A darling child with a somber face and desirable molded hair with blue bow. $495
