14" BLACK 179 BELTON
Marks: 179//6 on head. Dark black bisque socket head, set brown threaded eyes, black feathered brows visible under lighting, closed melon colored mouth with ethnic look, pierced ears, original black caracul wig, dark black jointed wood and composition body with separate balls at shoulders, straight wrists. Well dressed in antique clothing: dress with ribbon tie at waist, half slip, chemise, pants, socks, red leather high button boots and marvelous antique black velvet hat with perky flower trim. Original wig is worn, with tear in back to uncover marking, body appears excellent with no obvious repaint. Clothing is in good condition, boots are deteriorated and fragile. A very rare and exceptional black doll with ethnic look, dressed in a very appealing outfit, with a wonderful little chapeau that just fits her personality! $4495




21" DEP
Marks: DEP//9 on head. Bisque socket head, deep blue paperweight eyes with incredible detail, closed mouth with outlined lips and white space between lips, pierced ears, antique blond mohair wig, jointed wood and composition French body with jointed wrists. Lovely antique pale pink dress trimmed with much lace, antique underclothing, new socks and leather shoes. Few minor inherent specks in bisque, arms and legs repainted. A lovely and scarce doll with the dreamy look of a French bebe. $3295




15" K * R 101
Marks: K * R//101//39 on head. Bisque socket head, painted blue eyes with heavy molded lids giving a downcast look, single stroke brows, closed pouty mouth, original mohair wig in braids, jointed wood and composition K * R body with pink finish. Dressed in factory original ethnic clothing depicting the Black Forest region of Germany, antique underclothing, socks and shoes. Doll is in excellent condition, with no damage to the head, body is in good condition (clothing not removed for complete inspection); original clothing is aged, black silk apron has small areas of deterioration beginning, black silk cone shaped hat shows display dust, silk ribbon on back of hat deteriorated. An outstanding cabinet size character in original colorful ethnic clothing. A real treasure from my personal collection. $3395




16" KESTNER XI
Marks: XI on back of head. Bisque socket head with bulbous neck, brown sleep eyes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, closed shapely mouth with accent line between lips, antique curly mohair wig on antique cardboard pate, original heavy jointed Kestner Schmitt-type body with separate balls at shoulders and elbows, cupped hands. Dressed in wonderful boy’s suit with white shirt, black pants with matching formal jacket, black silk tie in large bow, antique knit socks and antique black leather shoes. Tiny inherent speck above top lip; body is generally excellent with normal wear at joints and on hands. A very desirable early Kestner with outstanding and expressive modeling and decoration, early heavy body in exceptionally nice condition. $4850




20" KESTNER 128
Marks: G made in//Germany 11//128 on head, Germany//33?? (part of marking missing) on lower right back. Bisque socket head, set brown eyes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, closed pouty mouth, antique human hair wig, jointed wood and composition Kestner body. Dressed in antique pink organdy dress with lace trim, antique underclothing, new socks, antique oilcloth shoes. Eyes have been set, several pinpoint wig pulls around head, lacquer finish missing in areas of torso, repairs at hip joints and on feet, wear on fingers. A fabulous early closed mouth pouty Kestner with a very appealing face. She is well redressed in antique clothing and is ready to display. $1995




12" NOCKLER & TITTEL CHARACTER
Marks: N&T1//2 on head, Germany//3/0 stamped in red on lower back. Bisque socket head, blue intaglio eyes looking right, red lid line over eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth with lighter area between lips, molded and painted blond hair, jointed wood and composition body. Dressed in antique white low waisted dress, antique underclothing including corset, new socks and shoes. Head is perfect, arms and legs repainted. A pert and very rare character made by one of Germany’s smaller companies. Perfect for the collector who loves an appealing character face! $2850




19" GEBRUDER HEUBACH 6969
Marks: 6969 at crown, 7//Germany on back of head, Germany//2 stamped in red on right lower back. Pink bisque socket head, blue sleep eyes, multi-stroke brows with shading, painted upper and lower lashes, closed pouty mouth with accent line between lips, antique mohair wig, jointed wood and composition Kestner body. Nicely redressed in two piece boy’s outfit, new cotton socks and shoes. Left little finger replaced, minor repair around neck socket of torso, normal wear at joints. A desirable pouty mold with glass eyes, nicely dressed and in exceptional condition. $3395




17" SIMON & HALBIG 739
Marks: S9H 739 DEP on head. Bisque socket head, brown sleep eyes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with outlined lips, six upper teeth, pierced ears, antique mohair wig, jointed wood and composition body with straight wrists, cupped hands, loose balls at shoulders and elbows. Dressed in antique white lace-trimmed dress, antique slip, new pants, antique socks and shoes. Minor flakes at earring holes, flake at under side of right earring hole; normal light wear on body, small hole inside calf of right leg. A desirable and scarce mold of the popular Simon & Halbig dolls, beautifully dressed and ready to display. $1950




12" BAHR & PROSCHILD 277 INDIAN
Marks: 277//Dep. on head. Reddish-brown bisque socket head, set brown eyes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with four upper teeth, lip color, nostril dots and eye dots not fired-in color, pierced ears, replaced mohair wig, composition body jointed at shoulders and hips, molded and painted tan shoes. Dressed in original Indian costume, gold hoop earrings. Minor inherent black specks at side of left cheek, tiny line of lip color missing, hands and feet touched-up, paper headband repaired and missing feathers. A rare and original example of brown bisque doll dressed as an American Indian. $795




11" BLACK K * R CHILD
Marks: L//S&H//K*R//30 on head. Brown bisque socket head, brown sleep eyes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with four upper teeth, original short black mohair wig, five piece brown composition body jointed at shoulders and hips. Dressed in antique navy blue dress with yellow dots and trim, white pinafore, vintage slip and pants, original blue knit socks, black oilcloth shoes and straw bonnet. Minor repair at shoulders and hips where doll was restrung. A very desirable cabinet size of a scarce brown child by Kammer and Reinhardt. $950




11 ½" GEBRUDER HEUBACH 7622
Marks: (sunburst mark)//DEP//Germany//1 //7622 on head. Pink bisque socket head, blue intaglio eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth with excellent modeling, molded and lightly painted hair with great detail, jointed wood and composition body with joints at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees. Dressed in gray linen tunic, blue pants, knit one piece underwear, socks and leather shoes. All clothing is newly made in the antique style and is very appealing on the doll. Body is repainted, paint strips flaking off wooden arm parts, some other minor repairs. A wonderful character typical of the Heubach style, with well-modeled features and great personality. $725




11 ½" GEBRUDER HEUBACH SCREAMER
Marks: 0//Germany on head. More marks may be hidden by kid glued on shoulder plate. Pink bisque shoulder head, squinty blue intaglio eyes, single stroke furrowed brows, open/closed mouth with molded tongue, deeply molded creases and muscles enhance the facial expression of screaming, lightly molded and brush-stroked hair, kid body with bisque lower arms, gussets at hips and knees, cloth lower legs. Well redressed in short pants, tan shirt, socks and vintage sandals. Very light rubs on left forehead, at end of left brow and on nose, inherent “pimple” in right brow, minor inherent circle on tongue and line on lower lip; kid body is now sturdy after being extensively patched and repaired on the lower part, with cloth lower legs reattached. A wonderful cabinet size of one of Heubach’s rare characters, in obvious deep distress and showing the emotions of childhood. $1350




12" REVALO COQUETTE
Marks: Revalo//3 Dep. on head. Bisque socket head, blue-gray intaglio eyes looking left, multi-stroke brows, well-defined lid lines, open/closed smiling mouth with molded and painted upper teeth, molded and painted brown hair with curls around face, molded pink ribbon with bows on sides across front of hair, jointed wood and composition body with straight wrists. Well redressed in new pink striped low-waisted dress with white collar, trimmed with lace and pink ribbon rosettes, new underclothing, socks and shoes. Rubs on cheeks and nose, light rubs on high areas of hair, body parts are not all original to torso. A sweet doll with well-defined modeling and excellent decoration, in a desirable cabinet size. $525




12 ½" RARE GEBRUDER HEUBACH CHARACTER
Marks: 2/0D//Heubach (in square)// Germany on head. Pink bisque shoulder head, blue intaglio eyes with well-modeled lids, single stroke brows, open/closed mouth, molded and lightly painted hair in small bun on top back of head, molded curl on forehead and curls at nape of neck, kid body with bisque lower arms, pin joints at hips, gussets at knees, cloth lower legs. Well dressed in beautiful antique white dress with lace trim, new pants, antique socks. About ¾ of shoulder plate repaired (seems to have been missing and rebuilt); kid body is aged but seems sturdy. A darling mold of a young child, with the sweet innocent look of a little girl, in a rare mold by Heubach. $495




7" GEBRUDER KUHNLENZ 44
Marks: GK (in sun)//44-15 on back of head. Bisque socket head, set brown pupiless eyes looking slightly to left, painted upper and lower lashes, single stroke brows, open mouth with four upper teeth, replaced mohair on cardboard pate, five piece composition body with molded and painted socks and one strap shoes with heels. Dressed in original ethnic clothing, original underclothing and hat. Excellent condition; wig is made from old mohair. A sweet little doll in completely factory original clothing and in unplayed-with condition. $165




6" GOEBEL DUTCH GIRL FAKE
Marks: G (Goebel mark) 4//Germany on back of neck. This doll was sold on ebay as an antique, but is a newly produced fake, meant to deceive the buyer. Her bisque is beautiful with well-defined decoration. She is on a five piece composition body with molded and painted socks and shoes; her “original” clothing is stitched on. She is a wonderful little doll if represented for what she is, but is not what she was represented to be. I am selling her for what she is, for what I paid.
