12" HERTEL, SCHWAB & CO 172 GOOGLY
Marks: 172-1 on head. Solid dome bisque socket head with molded tufts of hair on top and above ears, blue sleep eyes looking right, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, closed mouth with exaggerated smile, brush-stroked hair, composition baby body jointed at shoulders and hips. Dressed in antique buttoned diaper with lace trim, short white baby dress. A few pin-point size flecks at neck opening, light rub on left cheek; body has good original finish with normal wear at joints, tip of left little finger missing. A very scarce mold, in an endearing cabinet size, with all the personality of one of the larger sizes of this mold. $3875

25" K * R 127 TODDLER
Marks: K * R // Simon & Halbig // 127 // 56 on head. Solid dome bisque socket head, blue sleep eyes (head packed), feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with two upper teeth and wobble tongue, jointed wood and composition toddler body with diagonal hip joints. Dressed in blue/white knit romper, new socks and shoes. Few minor inherent imperfections on top of head, body repainted, dent on each side of torso from doll stand. A wonderful, large size of this very desirable mold, on a toddler body. $1550

13" FRANZ SCHMIDT 1288 TODDLER
Marks: F.S.&Co.//1288/35//Made in Germany on head. Last number of mold number is difficult to read; may be a 6 or even a 5. Solid dome bisque socket head, glazed blue intaglio eyes looking right, well modeled lids, molded single stroke brows, pierced nostrils, open smiling mouth with two molded upper teeth, molded and painted hair with well detailed modeling, fully jointed chubby composition toddler body with excellent original finish. Dressed in undershirt and pants only, to show off his wonderful body. Neck socket of body cracked about 2/3 of the way around, and reinforced with glue, cracks in finish of body around neck opening, craze lines on feet and right lower leg. This is a very rare and unusual character, with glazed finish on his eyes, which makes them look wet. His happy face and rare molded hair, along with his wonderful chubby body add greatly to his appeal. $3995

12" A. M. 252 BABY
Marks: G.B. 252//Germany//A.0.M.// D.R.M.R. on head. Bisque socket head, blue intaglio googly eyes looking left, single stroke brows, closed smiling mouth, lightly molded dimples, molded and painted light brown hair in Kewpie style with top peak, composition baby body. Dressed in vintage white dress with embroidery on bodice, one piece underwear. Left first and little fingers replaced, several areas of repair or touch-up on body well done and not noticeable. A rare impish baby with a Kewpie look, sure to add a spark of personality to any collection! $1725

12 ½" GEBRUDER HEUBACH 8413 TODDLER
Marks: 8413 at crown, 5//Heubach (in square)//Germany on head. Bisque socket head, light blue sleep eyes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open/closed mouth with two upper teeth and molded tongue, original mohair wig, five piece composition toddler body. Dressed in wonderful white shirt, black wool pants with embroidered suspenders, red wool vest with embroidery trim and silver decorative buttons, heavy knit socks, brown tie oilcloth shoes, black embroidered cap, red ribbon tie at neck; original factory romper with blue ribbon shoulder ties. 1” hairline from crown to end of right brow, very light cheek rubs; body is near mint. Shoes have surface damage. A scarce character, in a very appealing ethnic outfit. $895

20" KESTNER 257 BABY
Marks: made in // Germany. // J.D.K. // 257. // made in // Germany. // 51 on head, Made in Germany stamped in red on upper back. Bisque socket head, blue sleep eyes missing real lashes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with two upper teeth and wobble tongue, original mohair wig on cardboard pate, composition Kestner baby body with crier (works faintly). Dressed in original green lace-trimmed organdy dress with matching bonnet, organdy pants and matching slip, soft kid baby moccasins. Doll is in exceptionally nice condition, with a few minor apologies: wig is becoming thin in places, finish of body is wonderful, with a few places where something dropped on it in the attic; her clothing is completely original, but unfortunately a mouse found places of it tasty through the years, so there are places that have been damaged. This doll came from an attic of an estate, and I am sure has not been played with. If she had been stored properly, she would be perfect. She is a very pretty baby in exceptionally nice condition. $550

10" GEBRUDER HEUBACH 7603 BABY
Marks: 0//76(Heubach sunburst)03// Germany incised, 79 stamped in green on head. Solid dome pink bisque socket head, blue intaglio eyes, single stroke brows, closed mouth, lightly molded and painted hair, composition baby body with slightly bent legs. Dressed in beautiful long antique christening dress, lace-trimmed bonnet, short slip, pants, knit booties. A beautiful cabinet size baby with the exceptional bisque and decoration for which Heubach is known. $375
