14" FRANZ SCHMIDT 1270 TODDLER
Marks: F.S. & Co.//1270/35 Z//Depoinert on head. Solid dome bisque character head, painted blue eyes with black lid lines, two-tone brows, open/closed mouth with two upper teeth and molded tongue, lightly molded and brush stroked hair, quality toddler body jointed at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Dressed in red/white striped knit shirt, green velvet pants and jacket, socks and shoes. Very minor rubs on left forehead and cheeks; areas of light wear on body, wear on fingers and toes, left ring finger chipped. A rare and very appealing toddler, with a hint of dimples that add to his impish look. A real charmer! $1450

15" GERMAN TODDLER
Marks: 6 low on back of head. Bisque socket head, brown sleep eyes, multi-stroke brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open/closed mouth with a hint of a tongue, outlined lips, antique mohair wig, fully jointed heavy toddler body with diagonal hip joints, jointed at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees, well-defined outlines between fingers and toes and around nails. Dressed in crocheted ecru sweater with maroon stripes and matching scarf, maroon crocheted cardigan sweater, crocheted cap with maroon pompoms on sides, ecru wool romper, rayon socks and black oilcloth tie shoes. Exceptionally clean pink toddler body with a few areas of light wear on the finish. A very desirable German toddler with exceptionally pretty coloring and quality bisque, outstanding decoration, on a heavy fully jointed toddler body. He is a real charmer! $2550

11" ALL BISQUE TODDLER MARKED 203
Marks: 203//10 on back of head. All bisque toddler with stiff neck, brown sleep eyes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open/closed mouth with molded tongue, original mohair wig, jointed at shoulders and hips. Dressed in antique knit two piece set with blue romper and white sweater. Repair at upper right arm with large piece reglued and not noticeable, and small area of fill and touch-up, crack and touch-up around left elbow. This toddler appears to be an undocumented Kestner number, as he has Kestner characteristics. His modeling is outstanding, especially on his fat little toddler legs. $1295

15" KESTNER 243 BABY
Marks: H. made in//Germany 12//243//J.D.K. on head. Bisque socket head with ethnic coloring, brown sleep eyes, feathered black brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with two upper teeth, original sparse human hair wig on original plaster pate, composition Kestner baby body. Well redressed in elaborate Oriental clothing. Tiny rubs on left cheek and edge of top lip color; middle fingers on left hand repaired, overall touch-up with yellow tint on body. A desirable baby with ethnic features, by “The King of Dollmakers”. $4595

Marks: G.B. 252//Germany//A.0.M.// D.R.M.R. on head. Bisque socket head, blue intaglio googly eyes looking left, single stroke brows, closed smiling mouth, lightly molded dimples, molded and painted light brown hair in Kewpie style with top peak, composition baby body. Dressed in vintage white dress with embroidery on bodice, one piece underwear. Left first and little fingers replaced, several areas of repair or touch-up on body well done and not noticeable. A rare impish baby with a Kewpie look, sure to add a spark of personality to any collection! $1725

20" KESTNER HILDA BABY

Dressed in lavish antique white baby dress with loads of lace inserts and ruffles, antique baby slip and antique embroidered baby bonnet with rows of ruffles surrounding the face. Tiny rub on nose, light color wear on back of neck, small repair on flake at neck opening, body is generally excellent with touch-up on hands. One of the sweetest and most realistic babies made, this beautiful Hilda is dressed in lavish antique clothing that makes her an outstanding example of this desirable doll. $3195

21" KESTNER BABY JEAN

Dressed in vintage baby dress and slip. Tiny rub at end of right brow, body is exceptionally nice with light wear on hands and finger tips. A beautiful large baby with a wonderful dimpled face that is very realistic. $1350

14" GEBRUDER HEUBACH BABY
Marks: 7//Germany incised, 25 stamped in green on head. Pink bisque socket head with molded stringing loop at bottom of neck, deep blue intaglio eyes, two-tone single stroke brows, open/closed mouth with shading and accent line between lips, molded and lightly painted hair, five piece composition baby body. Well redressed in blue/white striped romper with white collar. Touch-up around neck socket of body, on torso and on arms, left little finger replaced. Body appears to be a Kestner baby body. A nice large example of a quality character baby, with lightly molded dimples in a very appealing face. $950

Bisque socket head, brown sleep eyes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with nicely accented lips, two upper teeth and wobble tongue, antique human hair wig on partial plaster pate, composition Kestner baby body with working crier. Beautifully dressed in all antique clothing: embroidered long baby dress with tucks and lace inserts, eyelet insert on skirt, antique embroidered and lace-trimmed bonnet, flannel slip, undershirt, diaper, long socks and knit booties. Head is perfect, body has excellent original finish and a working crier, tip of ring finger and half of little finger missing on right hand, normal wear and soil on hands. A beautiful big baby with outstanding coloring and decoration, complemented by her large dark brown eyes and dark brown wig. Her wonderful antique clothing sets this baby apart for a very special display. $565

Beautifully dressed in lace-trimmed white baby dress and slip. One inch hairline from back neck opening curves through markings on head, body finish cracked and repainted. A wonderful small size of this early character, beautifully dressed in a sweet baby dress. $195

Bisque socket head, brown sleep eyes with remnants of real lashes, open mouth with two upper teeth and wobble tongue, naughty mechanism in head prevents eyes from closing when doll is tilted to her left before lying down, antique human hair wig; composition baby body. Dressed in vintage dress made of antique fabrics, matching panties. Few minor rubs on cheeks, most of real lashes missing, minor touch-ups on body, mostly on cracks in finish of body. A bright, perky baby with a mischievous look, nicely dressed and ready for display. $395

Bisque socket head, brown sleep eyes with real lashes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with four upper teeth, antique mohair wig on new pate, composition baby body. Dressed in antique pink knit knee-length pants, white lace-trimmed baby dress with lace bodice, white lace baby bonnet, cotton socks and older replacement shoes. Tiny pin point fleck at outside corner of right eye, a few minor wig pulls, with a few heavier pulls on right back at crown; body has good original finish. A pretty baby of an unusual mold, with striking large dark eyes complemented by her dark mohair wig. $450

19 ½" K * R 926 TODDLER
Marks: K & R//926//7//Germany on head. Composition socket head, blue sleep eyes with real lashes, feathered brows, painted upper and lower lashes, eye shadow, open mouth with two upper teeth and celluloid tongue, original coarse synthetic hair, five piece composition toddler body. Dressed in vintage print dress with matching panties, original cloth sandals. Fine craze line on left cheek and above her right eye, light wear on finish on back of upper arms, front of left foot appears to have been broken off and reglued. This is the composition version of the popular 126 mold by Kammer & Reinhardt, a bright, happy toddler with pretty coloring and loads of presence. $295

10" RECKNAGEL 28 BABY
Marks: 28-7/0 on head. Bisque socket head, blue intaglio eyes, single stroke brows, open/closed mouth with two upper teeth, molded white knit cap with blue pompom, molded blond hair peeking out from under cap, crude composition baby body. Dressed in teal and melon crocheted outfit, new socks and shoes. Crude body has worn and discolored finish, repairs on toes. A cute little bonnet baby with outstanding smooth bisque and desirable soft coloring. $475

8" GEBRUDER HEUBACH 7602 BABY
Marks: (Heubach sunburst)//76 DEP 02// 5/0//Germany on head. Solid dome bisque socket head, blue intaglio eyes, single stroke brows, closed pouty mouth, molded and lightly painted hair, composition baby body. Dressed in cute two piece sailor-type outfit with short pants and matching cap, crocheted booties. Finish of body is aged and worn. A nice tiny example of one of Heubach’s popular pouty molds so desired by collectors. $285

12" GEBRUDER HEUBACH CHARACTER
Marks: 3 1/2//(Heubach sunburst mark)// Germany on head. Bisque socket head, blue sleep eyes, multi-stroke brows with shaded background, painted upper and lower lashes, open mouth with laughing expression, two lower teeth, molded dimples, replaced wig, composition baby body. Dressed in antique pink dress, vintage slip, new panties, antique handmade socks and oilcloth baby shoes. Head has been broken and repaired, body repainted. A desirable glass-eyed character for a fraction of the price of a perfect doll. Her repair does not show readily, and allows a collector to enjoy one of Heubach’s happiest characters. $550

10 ½" GEBRUDER HEUBACH BABY STUART
Marks: 6/0//Heubach (in square)//6226 (8226?) on back of neck and shoulder plate. Bisque shoulder head, blue intaglio eyes with molded lids, single stroke brows, closed pouty mouth, molded white bonnet with pink flowers and green leaves, holes in corners of bonnet for ribbon, kid body with gussets at hips and knees, crude bisque lower arms, cloth lower legs. Dressed in pink silk long sleeve chemise, pale blue dress with pink flowers, original knit one piece underwear, replaced stockings. Kid body is aged with minor repairs, upper arms replaced with old kid. An unusual version of the very popular Baby Stuart, this shoulder head baby has beautiful decoration, especially on his bonnet. $475

9" GERMAN BABY
Marks: Germany//610//9/0 on head. Solid dome bisque socket head, painted blue eyes, single stroke brows, open/closed mouth, lightly molded and brush stroked hair, composition baby body with left leg bent more than right. Redressed in blue romper trimmed with rick-rack, matching bonnet, booties. Minor inherent mold flaw on nose, tiny flake on back of head filled, tiny flake on back of neck, opening of neck socket on head filled with substance to hold stringing loop; body repainted and has several minor repairs. An unusual little baby that resembles the popular K*R 100, known as the “Kaiser Baby”. $225
